I read a review that was easy to understand and gave me ease about a couple of concerns I'd developed during my Rice Cooker research.
I wanted something fully automatic. Panasonic's cooker comes close but still needs to be "controlled". If left on the "keep warm" setting for any length of time, you'll get crusty, hard, brittle rice. I did 2 batches initially after taking the cooker out of the box, and I figured out how to get what I want, fluffy,sticky, steamed rice, and lots of it!
As soon as the automatic switch from "cook" to "keep warm" takes place, unplug the unit immediately.
It does require monitoring in that regard, but I usually have 17 minutes of other food prep or stuff to do while the rice is cooking. I left it on the "keep warm" setting inadvertantly for about 2 or 3 minutes once and the "bad effects" were already beginning.
It's an excellent vegetable steamer also.
I would buy Panasonic again unless I knew of some other machine that worked better.
